basics

name: Lucas Vega
nicknames: Vegeta (the only name he answers to now) ; "The Prince" ; Monkey (but prepare to die if he hears you call him that)
birthday: January 3
age: 28
manner of speech: Gruff, often with a healthy dose of his trademark biting sarcasm.

personal

home: Currently resides at Chesire Crossing

siblings: None
financial status: Was essentially a slave for most of his life.

build: He's very short, which is something of a sore-spot for him. However, despite his small frame he's solid muscle.
eye color: Brown
hair color: Black
dress style: Dresses for comfort. Usually sweatpants and a plain white tee, but will sometimes opt for jeans.
distinguishing marks: A pronounced widow's peak, his height, and a large collection of brutal scars over his entire body.
psychological & physical

quirks/habits/mannerisms: Has a vein in his forehead that tends to pop out when he's angry or upset.
likes: Being left alone, fighting, winning, training, food
dislikes: People, talking, feeling stupid, being called a Monkey, losing, Frieza
disorders: Megalomania, Schizoid personality disorder, Intermittent explosive disorder

pessimist/optimist: Pessimist

physical health: Is currently in perfect physical shape.
personality: Rude. Crass. Arrogant. All of these words have been used at one point in time to describe Vegeta, and with good reason. He was taught from a young age to never put his trust in anyone, and lives by that lesson to this day. Even though he's endured years and years of physical and mental anguish, he has locked it away behind an impenetratable wall and will often react violently towards anyone stupid enough to try and break it down. He's lived his entire life as a fighter, and so kind gestures or words are not typically recieved well. If anything, they confuse him, but to cover this he will react with open disgust and contempt towards those who try to be nice to him and insult them for being weak. He can be extremely condescending, and usually is; he is of the firm belief that other people are there to serve him, mostly because he judges other people's character by how physically strong they are. If you can't take him in the ring, you aren't worhy of his time. But that is not to say that he is all brawn and no brain. In fact, Vegeta is highly intelligent, but since physical strength is all that matters to him he tends to mask his intelligence, often surprising people when he decides to actually use it.

history

Lucas Vega's father, Marcus Vega, was one of the best fighters in one of the largest illegal fighting clubs in New York. Men came from all over the continent to test their strength in the ring, facing up against some of the best unknown fighters in the world for glory, riches and admiration. Of course, not everyone was so lucky. Many escaped with broken bones and wounded pride. A few were carried out in body bags. But that's what happens when you run an illegal ring. People get hurt, and some don't make it. But Marcus made a quick name for himself there, winning match after match virtually undefeated. Though it wasn't the most conventional lifestyle, Marcus lived well on the money he made and was able to support his family, the beautiful Italian Bella named Marla he called his wife and his only son, Lucas.

By the time Lucas was old enough to curl his fingers into a fist, Marcus, much to Marla's chagrin, was already teaching him the basics. Day after day he schooled him in the ways of the ring, and was pleased when he began to show signs of becoming a great fighter like him. Lucas quickly bounced back from injuries and showed intense determination and concentration when they sparred; his skills only increased as he got older. When he was almost ten years old, his father entered him into the junior division of the fight club without telling Marla. He was almost five years younger than most of the other boys, but still proceeded to fearlessly enter the ring, the confidence his father had instilled in him all but radiating from him in waves. The crowd was awed by the sophisticated style with which the boy fought, cheering for him wildly as he rapidly ascended the ranks. Victory was his that night, earning him new fans, respect from his father and the nickname 'The Prince' due to the fact that he was the heir of one of the greatest fighters.

His success also earned the attention of the owner of the club, one Vicenzo Frieza who watched the boy with hungry, greedy eyes. Frieza was an infamously ruthless man who was always looking for a new way to earn more money, and as he watched Lucas pummel his way through boys much larger and older than he, he saw nothing but dollar signs. What a fabulous investment for him to make! People would pay hard-earned cash to see such a talented sprout, and the bets would go through the roof! He decided that he had to have the boy somehow, and so approached Marcus with a proposition. However, Marcus could not be swayed to sell his son to Frieza; he, like many of the other fighters, knew all too well of his cruel nature, not to mention his fondness for younger boys. He would never deliver Lucas to such a fate! However, 'no' was not a word that Frieza enjoyed hearing, and so, after having Marcus savagely beaten (even a champion could not stand against 5 experienced thugs) he made him another offer. If Marcus did not give him his son, he would have his career stripped away, and Marla would be killed. Beaten and bloodied, Marcus knew defeat for the first time. He did not have a choice. After making Frieza swear to take good care of him (which he did, very sweetly), he agreed to the arrangement and signed Lucas over to him. But no sooner had Lucas been taken away when Frieza gave his men the orders to kill Marcus and Marla anyway. Lucas never saw them again... and neither did anyone else.

Now the charge of one of the most savage men in the city, Lucas' life became one of horror and humiliation. His life was now dedicated to winning in the ring.... violent training sessions occupied all of his free time, and when he did catch a moment to himself it was usually to eat or sleep before he was summoned back for more. As though the physical abuse he endured was not enough, Frieza was constantly finding new and interesting ways to break him mentally, as well. He summoned for him while he was sleeping, rousing him to satiate his sick, fiendish desires. He even went so far as to strip him of the one thing of his parents that he had left; his name. He was forced to answer to the name 'Vegeta', a cruel nickname Frieza had devised after musing to himself that the boy was barely smarter than a vegetable. The insults and harasment didn't stop there though. During the horrifying times that Frieza had him to himself, he did not call him by any name at all. Instead, he called him a Monkey, a nickname that Lucas, or Vegeta, quickly came to hate. The one time he tried to run away, he had been punished so severely that he never tried again, opting instead to wait for the day he could have his revenge.

Years went by in this manner. His adolescence was a bloody blur. When he reached his late teens, he had become too strong for Frieza to molest any more; instead, he began to order him into acting as one of his personal thugs when he was not in the ring, carrying out orders that scarred and hardened the boy even further. With each day that passed, the boy withdrew more and more into himself, becoming someone that could withstand anything, trusting no one and shelving his pain into the back of his mind. He had to. He became obsessed with winning, with getting strong enough to one day kill Frieza himself. Every attempt the man made to destroy his pride, he became more determined, more arrogant. He adapted to survive, but the outcome was a man that was as brutal as the monster that had created it.

One night, Frieza summoned Vegeta for a meeting concerning his (deliberate) failure during one of his last missions. He went, but the moment the pervert closed the door Vegeta attacked. Years of supressed fury and hate overwhelmed him, and he would have killed the man had his bodyguards not bashed the door down in time. He was unmercifully beaten, almost to the point of death... and the last thing he remembered hearing before he lost consciousness was the high-pitched wheeze of Frieza's laughter.

When he came to, a month had passed. His surroundings were unfamiliar, and when he caught sight of a doctor he demanded an explanation. Apparently he had been comatose for the past week. He had almost died in Frieza's house, but thankfully the police had showed up. Their investigation of the illegal fight club had finally come to fruitation, and they had gathered enough evidence for a warrant. They had found his battered, broken form tossed carelessly on the floor of his bedroom, and had him transported to the hospital straight away before arresting Frieza and his goons. Instead of feeling relief, all Vegeta could feel was anger. He had lost. He had been beaten by that bastard right up until the end... if this even was the end.

Upon performing numerous medical tests, the doctors concluded that Vegeta had severe psychological problems. He refused to divulge any information about himself and, even when he was capable of walking again, he refused to leave his hospital room. He also showed signs of violent behavior; he was, essentially, a bomb with a very short fuse. A reference was made to Chesire Crossing, and he was transported there for help.

theme

New blood joins this earth
And quickly he's subdued
Through constant pained disgrace
The young boy learns their rules

With time the child draws in
This whipping boy done wrong
Deprived of all his thoughts
The young man strugggles on and on he's known
A vow unto his own
That never from this day
His will they'll take away

What I've felt
What I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown
Never be
Never see
Won't see what might have been
What I've felt
What I've known
Never shined through in what I've shown
Never free
Never me
So I dub thee unforgiven

They dedicate their lives
To running all of his
He tries to please them all
This bitter man he is
Throughout his life the same
He's battled constantly
This fight he cannot win
A tired man they see no longer cares
The old man then prepares
To die regretfully
That old man here is me

Never Free
Never Me
So I dub thee unforgiven
You labeled me
I'll label you
So I dub thee unforgiven
