The Bulma [ love interest ; female ;
needs_an_alibi ] : The BULMA is someone who is Vegeta's complete opposite. She's talkative, friendly, optimistic, stands for the greater good and blah blah blah. About the only thing they have in common is the fact that they're both incredibly short-tempered. They bicker constantly, and there is nothing he enjoys more than getting under her skin. She's also probably the only person who can beat him in a verbal spar. Logic stands to show that he should hate her just as much if not
more so than he hates everyone else, but there is something about the woman that he can't help but respect and eventually care for. The BULMA is the only person who can get Vegeta to show a softer, unselfish side of himself that even he doesn't believe exists; once she breaks down his walls, he will do anything to protect her.
The Kakarott (AKA Son-Goku) [ "friendly" rival ; male ; open ] : Where Vegeta struggles endlessly to prove his worth, the SON-GOKU always seems to effortlessly one-up him again and again and, to be frank, he hates him for it. Vegeta's pride does not allow him to view the SON-GOKU as an equal even though he secretly (and sometimes not-so-secretly) envies him in many ways. He's easily angered by and quick to snap at the SON-GOKU, yet he can't help but feel a bizarre sort of kinship towards him. Despite the extreme differences in their personalities and Vegeta's open disdain for him, the mindless idiot, for whatever reason, seems to think that they're best friends. Their relationship is a strange one at best.
The Trunks [ the ward ; male or female ;
trunksbriefs ] : The TRUNKS absolutely worships the ground Vegeta walks on and is constantly trying to gain his attention, often going out of their way in attempts to earn his favor and respect. Like with the SON-GOHAN, Vegeta very rarely acknowleges their struggle, even though he
does notice. Occassionally, when he's feeling particularly charitable, he will take the TRUNKS under his wing, yet despite the cold, distant manner in which he treats the TRUNKS there is an unspoken, often concealed sense of protectiveness that Vegeta feels towards him. If they were ever in trouble he would be one of the first to defend them.
The Bra [ male or female ; open ] The BRA is an interesting figure in Vegeta's life. Aside from the BULMA, he or she is probably the only figure who can pursuade Vegeta to do things he doesn't necessarily want to do. He's extraordinarily protective of the BRA, sometimes to the point of being overbearing, and holds an uncharacteristic amount of affection for them even if he doesn't always show it.
The Z-Fighters:
Yamcha [ rival ; male ; open ] The YAMCHA has strong ties with the BULMA... so it's not exactly shocking that he hates Vegeta. He, like the other Z-FIGHTERS, believes that Vegeta is little more than a pint-sized psychopath, and because of his protectiveness of the BULMA, he goes out of his way to try and exploit him so she can see what he believes to be his 'true nature'.
Tien/Chiatzu [ rival ; male or female ; open ] They're on the YAMCHA's side, one hundred percent. They don't trust Vegeta, and want him exposed for the monster they think he is.
Krillin [ the peace-maker ; male or female ;
neverduplicated ] Like the other Z-FIGHTERS, the KRILLIN is really close to the BULMA. However, he sympathizes with her and supports her belief that Vegeta isn't entirely what he seems. The KRILLIN is the one who tries to act as the voice of reason among the Z-FIGHTERS, the one who, for the BULMA's sake, tries to mediate and keep the peace between them and Vegeta.
The Piccolo [ (reluctant) ally ; male or female ; open ] : Transitioning from a life of violence and darkness to a place where everything you once knew is banned is not easy. The PICCOLO is someone who shares Vegeta's struggle with that fact. They share a strange, reluctant bond through the fact that they are both in need of redemption, and a silent, unspoken respect for the other's privacy, which is more than can be said about most of the other people at Chesire.
The Son-Gohan [ male or female ; open ] : Maybe the SON-GOHAN lost his/her parents at a young age. Or maybe they're just in need of some companionship and good advice. Either way, Vegeta doesn't understand why they come to
him for their annoying questions and concerns! It's obvious the SON-GOHAN is a little bit wary of Vegeta, as they take much verbal abuse from him. But they're persistant, and are one of the few to believe that he is capable of being a good person when he wants to be.
The Son-Goten [ male or female ; open ]: An endless source of moronic optimism, the SON-GOTEN is pretty much a replica of the SON-GOKU, only on a smaller scale. However, he's more or less scared of his own shadow, and so fears Vegeta much more than the GOHAN or the TRUNKS. Vegeta regards them with weary disdain most of the time, but would never actually harm them... but the SON-GOTEN doesn't necessarily know that.
The Ginyu Force [ enemies ; males & females ; open ]: The GINYU FORCE are Vegeta's enemies. He views them as being stupid and beneath him (on an even greater scale than he does everyone else) and tries to avoid interacting with them most of the time. However, in this case
they are usually the ones that provoke
him, and are always looking for new ways to torment him or get him in trouble.
